Shanti Mantras

 भद्रं कर्णेभिः शृणुयाम देवाः ।
भद्रं पश्येमाक्षभिर्यजत्राः ।
स्थिरैरङ्गैस्तुष्टुवाग्‍ँसस्तनूभिः ।
व्यशेम देवहितं यदायुः ।


O bhadraṃ karṇebhiḥ srunuyama deva | bhadra pasyemaskabhiryajatra

stirairangaistustuvamsastanubhi | vyasema devahita yadayu
svasti nah indro vrddhasrava | svasti nah pusa visaveda
svasti nastarkyso aristanemi | svasti no brhasapirdadhatu
o santi santi santi

bhadram - auspicious; karnebhih - with our ears (3rd case plural); srunuyama - may we listen (plural vidhiling lakra)

bhadram - auspicious; pasyema  - may we see (plural vidhiling lakra); aksabhih - with our eyes (3rd case plural); yajatrah - o gods;

stiraih - with strong, angaih - limbs (3rd case plural); tustuvamsah - glorifying; tanubhih - through the vedas (3rd case plural)

vyasema - may we enjoy; devahitam - bestowed by the Lord; yat - that (indeclinable); ayuh - full life

svasti - auspicious; nah - for us; indrah - Indra; vrddhasravah - of great fame

svasti auspicious; nah - for us;  pusa - sun deity; visavedah - the omniscient (samasa ??)

svasti auspicious; nah - for us;  tarkyah -  Garuda; aristanemih - of unobstructed flight

svasti auspicious; nah - for us; brhasapatih - Brshaspati; dadhatu - May be bless us

O Gods! may we listen to what is meaningful with our ears.
May we see with our eyes things that are free from blemish.
Glorifying you with vedic mantras, with strong limbs may we enjoy our full lives.
May Indra of great fame bless us with auspiciousness.
May the omniscient sun deity bless us with auspiciousness.
May Garuda of unobstructed flight bless us with auspiciousness.
May Brhaspati of great intelligence bless us with auspiciousness.
